FOOD & WINE
Blue Gum is the perfect place to relax, enjoy good country food and wine next to a roaring fireplace with the ones you love.
The Café at Blue Gum is open sporadically – as the seasons, and guest requests dictate.
Our Head Chef, Reagan and Front of House, Margaret, are always eager to host guests for Breakfast, Lunches, Dinners & Afternoon Teas, or just a simple cuppa. Making people happy and hosting Special Occassions, Events & Functions are their passion. Please get in touch if you would like to use any of the spaces on Blue Gum for a celebration or memorable moment.
Food & Wine will always be an important part of Blue Gum. Our heart is to serve simple, classic, homemade meals which naturally change with the seasons. Wholesome, fresh ingredients and produce are cultivated on the farm, and sourced from local suppliers as much as possible.
Country Winter Meals focus on farm breads with butter, soup, stews, curries, bredies, casseroles & baked puddings with custards & creams. Hot Breakfast Buffets, featuring Oats with all the toppings, sweet crumbles, biscuits, farmhouse eggs and seasonal fruits.
We have 4 Hectares of Vines Blue Gum – Shiraz & Sauvignon Blanc. We farm and harvest these vines by hand. The grapes are often sold along to select Wine Farms in the area to use in their Wine Productions. We do have agreements in place to facilitate a few hundred bottles kept for ourselves, and these are available through the Café when open. Campbells Peak Wines is a small, boutique label with a significant history. The name “Campbell” has been given to sons in the Gibson family through the generations, and Anton & Tarryn’s son – Lucas Campbell de Kock will inherit this portion of the Farm & we hope he is able to enjoy the fruits of this special part of Blue Gum one day.
