We make no apologies about food being a main drawcard at Blue Gum Estate. We have two sections to our restaurant: BARKE, catering for families and informal get togethers. It is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner; while our more formal option The Blue Gum Restaurant is open for dinner, and caters to adults only – both serve the same menu. We also offer a room service menu from BARKE daily from 12h00 to 14h30.
Introducing our chef Isaac Sykes
Our chef Isaac Sykes took a circuitous route to the kitchen, originally training as an airforce engineer before realising that his true passion was food. Today he puts his engineering skills to good use in the kitchen’s extensive organic herb and vegetable garden, that he tends with the same passion and creativity with which he plans our delectable menus. His commitment to using local produce and organic ingredients can be seen in the constant development of our seasonal menus, and in the creation of every dish from scratch in our kitchens.
Breakfast is included in the daily rate and is served in BARKE. Should you wish to have tea and fresh scones in the afternoon, just let us know and we’ll arrange for it to be served in the lounge or delivered directly to your room. We also pride ourselves on our selection of local wines.
